Florida Marriage License Laws
Here are some important regulations regarding purchase of your Florida marriage license.
- Both apply in person with certified birth certificate or driver licenses.
- No blood test is necessary.
- License is good for 60 days anywhere in the state of Florida.
- Legal age is 18. If you are under 18 you must bring certified copy of your birth certificate and a parent or legal guardian with proof of identification.
- There is a 3 day waiting period from the date of purchase of the license; however if you have attended an approved marriage preparation course, there is no waiting period.
- If both reside out of the state of Florida, and provide proof of residency in another state there will be no waiting period and the license will be effective immediately.
- Currently the cost of the marriage license is $93.50, or $61.00 if you have taken the approved marriage preparatory course.
